Top 8: Where to Shop Designer Vintage

  1. The Refind Closet

Seattles Home For Luxury Resale

I discovered this brand on the owners daughter tiktok account. I know, the power of social media is insane.

The Refind Closet was founded by sales and marketing guru, Jeannine Christofilis, with her cousin Mary Bridget, and co-founder Susie Cohen.

They pride themselves on sustainability, and if you’ve followed me for a while, you know I’m all about second hand, natural fibers, and natural fabrics.

They have a variety of bags, shoes, and clothing ranging from Celine to cute bucket bags like this black Louis Vuitton Lockme bag.

The Chanel selection is cute and affordable in comparison to a few other competitors. I’ve seen this Triple Coco Shoulder Bag Navy bag on 2 other vintage resale sites for $1500 more than Refind’s offer. So it’s safe to say that if you’re looking for a place to grab your first investment bag, Refind is your go to.

As for their clothing, shoes, and jewelry, you can follow and shop via their Instagram Live Sales. In the meantime visit their site to shop over 130 vintage and current designer bags.

2. Cherish The Label

Don’t Let “The One” get away

My favorite vintage leather blazer comes from the Canadian brand, Cherish The Label, founded by former industry model, Darya Kosilova. On the site, the About Me section reads “Having worked for numerous global e-commerce brands, I witnessed the alarming, wasteful impact of seasonal fashion on the environment and on consumer habits…”, which pushed her to start the label; thus a Star was born!

I discovered her brand in 2020 while researching sustainable shopping options, and have been following since. I’m consistently in awe of the growth and vintage designer selection of chic 90s dresses, amazing winter coats, leather jackets and amazing jumpsuits like this red Thierry Mugler piece.

The nostalgia kicks in with these Y2K and 90s inspired dresses that I def need, especially the black one on the left.

I’m desperately into ruffles at the moment…They’re just so feminine.

Each Cherish piece is “hand-sourced for its unique aesthetic and quality”, so you’ll get carefully curated minimalist pieces such as this Dior Sweater.

Click to shop Cherish The Label online or via Instagram. 1st time buyers get 10% off using code CHERISH10.

If you have any questions, they are really good with customer service and answering via DM.

3. Nina Gabbana Vintage

Perhaps one of the most thorough vintage designer resellers I’ve come across is Marie Laboucarié, of Nina Gabbana Vintage.

Marie’s knowledge and clear obsession for really great designer vintage shows up cohesively throughout her branding; from what she sources to how she speaks about them in videos, and product descriptions across her socials. You can tell she breathes this.

If you follow her or have come across her videos on Instagram or Tiktok, she often talks about how her mother is responsible for her love of yummy vintage, along with a history of fashion lessons for each piece.

Like this Azzedine Alaïa Fall 1990 leather lace up skirt, many of her pieces are special and jaw dropping!

To view her showroom it’s appointment only, however, you can shop 24/7 on NinaGabbanaVintage.com, where she ships worldwide at no extra cost to you.

4. Select Vintage NYC

NYC based vintage boutique, Select Vintage, was founded by Justine DeRosa in 2020.

Their mission— like many other vintage brands—is to reduce the usage of overconsumption by shopping sustainably, aka secondhand.

They source items globally and tend to release new pre-loved drip weekly via their website and Instagram. But I’m telling you now, run don’t walk, if you want to score items like these no longer listed, Dior pointy toe pumps!

While surfing the site I came across two iconic dresses: the classic Emilio Pucci print, and the Galliano newspaper slip…100% worth adding to your wardrobe.

If you follow me on Instagram, you know I’m quick to put a scarf on some braids or a week and a half old blowout, so of course this $60 Nina Ricci scarf has me weak in the knees 😩.

5. Sac De Lux

Luxury for Less

Nikki Hightower and Shanice Gaither are two best-friends who turned their love of style and luxury into a business after realizing the high demand for consignment.

9 years ago they founded Sac De Lux, a pre-owned luxury handbag boutique, that offers luxury pieces for less like rare Gucci Horsebit 1955 Bucket Bags, Manolo Blahnik Over the Knee boots, and Valentino Vintage 543 Mask Style Sunglasses, all pictured above.

If you stop by their Atlanta boutique, you’ll find an array of stylish, retro pieces, including this Saint Laurent Hobo Bag.

And If you can’t make it to the brick and mortar, be sure to shop their Instagram or website, where they currently have a $100 off ALL shoes. No need for a code, it’s automatically applied at checkout.

6. Shop Fly Thread

Miami based brand, Shop Fly Thread, has a huge selection of the chicest 90s vintage I’ve seen. It’s subtle, yet breath taking and has a wide variety of staple pieces!

From this $28 iridescent coat, to these $185 Roberto Cavalli Bandana boots, everything is reasonably priced and in great condition.

This pink Prada tote bag weighs in at $375, and makes it affordable for consumers to tap into the brands ideology to “invest in contemporary pieces that will last a life-time, or find value in second-hand, and vintage items”

After seeing the price of these Gucci mules and black leather Prada Tote, I am officially a fan and will be purchasing A LOT of items, after tax season. The girls love a little tax splurge!

Tap into the brands Website and Instagram, give them a follow, and go cop you some sustainable designer to add to your wardrobe.

7. DCT Vintage Japan

I first learned of DCT Vintage while in Tokyo for work with a client. There’s a convention center called Tokyo Big Sight that host fashion trade shows twice a year. A girl working the Fresh Anti Youth booth, adjacent to my clients’, told me about a low-key, yet super authentic, designer resale brand, and I’ve been obsessed since.

Hailing from Yokohama, Japan and founded by Yoshinobu Sato, DCT offers a subtle and clean approach to the vintage designer items they sale.

The simplicity in this Louis Vuitton Monogram Vernis Wilshire PM and FENDI Zucca Print Polyester Cotton Skirt (both pictured above), are just two examples of the minimalist approach they take when it comes to sourcing their vintage.

Not only are the pieces simple, chic, and tasteful, they’re affordable and often times marked down.

Their ranking system is what I find most helpful when it comes to shopping 2nd hand. For instance, this FENDI Unborn Calf Leather Mini Croissant Hand Bag (pictured above) has a B grade, which means the item is in Average, Well Used Condition.

Top tier is an S grade, meaning an item is brand new; while a BC ranks the item as poor condition.

They offer free worldwide shipping to almost all countries, and 10% off your first purchase when you subscribe to their mailing list via their Website.

Stop by their Instagram and give them a follow

8. Shoe Slutz

Whether you were old enough to go to the Tunnel in NYC, or you went to middle school desperately wanting to dress like fly video girls, Shoe Slutz delivers heavy on the 90s nostalgia and is definitely for that girl!

Founded by Bronx native, Sophia Hyacinthe, this brand is here “to pay homage to gone but not forgotten NYC boutiques like Petit Peton, Chuckie’s, Barneys and Shoe Box.”

It’s def giving just that with these Vintage Leather tan boots (pictured above).

Boots like these Gianmarco Lorenzi Denim are plastered all over ShoeSlutz.com, along with this pair of $350 patent leather MIU MIU booties.

Not only does Sophia give a glimpse into how good the 90s were, fashion wise, her price point reminds us how affordable pieces were back then as well…And, I STAN!

MIU MIU $350

The cohesion between the brands mission and aesthetic, and what’s actually perceived by the audience, is why this brand is on my Top 8 and should be on your radar too!

I think perhaps the most genius thing from a marketing stand point is inviting the IT girls of social media to talk about their footwear collection via IG Live.

It adds a personable aesthetic to the overall feel of Shoe Slutz.

Pull up to the show by following them on Instagram, and be sure to sign up for their newsletter.
